A Stout, Industrial Desk
This desk was the first piece of furniture I built. It was made with limited wood and metal working, essentially just cutting and fastening. The distinct elements are the cherry stain on the veneered redwood plywood combined with the silver color of aluminum. Other practical/stylistic elements are visible hardware like nuts and bolts. The frame is made of 1.5″ square AL tube. It has a glass top elevated 0.5″ off the wood surface. There are 3 strips of aluminum across the wood top to give scale and proportion to the top surface.
